Revive & Thrive’s latest BID success came about earlier this month when it was announced that businesses in Acton had voted to adopt a new business improvement district for the area.

We are proud to have been working with Ealing Council and businesses in Acton for over a year now, since being engaged by the council to draw up a feasibility study for a BID in the area, and we are especially pleased for the project team who have worked incredibly hard to see this result through.

The new BID in Acton will begin operations in October this year and will deliver a wide range of projects identified in a business plan that was designed to meet the needs of an incredibly diverse business community. BID businesses range from small independent retailers across two high streets to large industrial manufacturers and we are pleased that businesses across all sectors and of all sizes have seen the benefits of a BID for their area.

The Acton BID will see almost £1.5million invested from the levy into the area over the coming five years across four thematic areas:

  • A cleaner and safer Acton
  • An accessible and attractive Acton
  • A better connected and active Acton
  • A strong voice and support for businesses in Acton

Projects already identified include improved signage, enhanced CCTV coverage, employee incentives and investment in more events in the town centre and the added benefit of having a voice for the local business community in regard to issues such as car parking and traffic management cannot be underestimated.

Of course, the hard work is only just beginning, and Acton BID has the added challenge of catching up with the two existing BIDs in the Borough of Ealing, but everyone at Revive & Thrive wishes the new BID nothing but success for the future and we look forward to continuing to work with it.
