Regional Networking Lancaster: A Creative & Resilient High Street, May 1st 2019

This event was held at The Storey buliding in lovely Lancaster on May 1st 2019. With a crowded auditorium there was a real buzz around the presentations and questions & answers sessions. We had a great walking tour around the historic centre that was very informative and finished the day with some very inspiring talks. Most of the presentations from the day can be downloaded below by delegates (with the event password) and our new Business Development Director has concisely summarised the day below:

“Many thanks to all who were able to join us yesterday at our regional networking event ‘A Creative and Resilient High Street’ very kindly hosted by Lancaster BID and Lancaster City Council. I’m sure you will agree there was a lot of positive energy in the room and the information from the presenters was very insightful. The key takeaway messages from me were: Importance of working with what you have, and don’t make money the first conversation, Celebrate what you have, even the not so good bits, be agile and responsive. Something that came out of more than one presentation was working with your community, and make it community up, rather than dictate. Think about colour and present your product, space or service in its best way possible. Treat your journey as an expedition and accept that its ok to fail, once, but learn from the mistakes and grow. Explore ‘competitive socialising’ and be mindful and use to your advantage your social interactions. Above all the networking and conversations in the room, shareing best practice or learnings was fantastic, and I look forward to working with as many of you as I can going forward with Revive & Thrive. ”

Russell Downing, Business Development Director
