“The Revive & Thrive Towns Event in Pontypridd offered a new and refreshing format for considering town centre issues. Whilst acknowledging and discussing the difficulties that towns face, the exchange of best practice and presentations on the day offered some very valid solutions. In addition to learning new ideas one cannot ignore the value that came from the networking opportunities” Rhiannon Kingsley, Bridgend Town Centre Manager

The day begins with an interactive workshop delivered by Reward Your World CEO, Dan Gipple. This workshop will be a fast paced opportunity to brainstorm solutions for town and city centres and high streets. It will focus on how engaging with non retail activities such as transport, health, employment and volunteering can bring benefits to the high street.
Revive and Thrive has been mapping out the perfect solution for town centres which will include innovation (technology based and non technological solutions) as well as training. This journey will describe how to engage with a resident or visitor and encourage them out of their homes into the high street where the experience will be so enjoyable and seamless that they will want to do it time and time again.
Jeremy Rucker of City Dressing will offer insights on best practice on temporary place enhancements for high streets and communities from the multiple towns that he is working in across the UK. Whilst Simon Turnock of IVTS will describe how ‘click and collect’ can play a substantial part in the journey towards a 24 hour town centre.
Your invitation to a free buffet lunch provided by Reward Your World will allow you the time to network with your peers, meet Revive and Thrive and members of the Revive and Thrive Business Group and learn new ideas and best practice.
The afternoon features a walk into town to meet the owner of the famous and historic Prince’s cafe Joe Gambarini. This will be an opportunity to hear Mr Gambarini’s experience in running a business in Pontypridd town centre for over 65 years. As well a creating another opportunity for meeting peers and sharing ideas, you will can enjoy Prince’s Cafe tea and homemade cakes provided free of charge courtesy of City Dressing.
The final presentation, back at the Pontypridd Municipal Building, will discuss how connecting technology with all elements of community behaviour can create a joined up Wales. This presentation will be given by Dan Gipple of Reward Your World. This exciting final section asks you to imagine what a total solution engaging with all elements of Welsh Communities across Wales could achieve and how easy it is to put this opportunity in place.
The event will be held at Pontypridd Municipal Building, Gelliwastad Road, Pontypridd CF37 2DP and is scheduled to run from 10.30 to 16.00 on May 14.
