RYW Community Systems is pleased to announce the release of version 2 of its “Reward Your World™” GPS enabled mobile app designed to 
encourage and reward Reading residents for choosing sustainable forms of transport. This was made possible through funding by Reading Borough Council via its Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF).
The latest version of the “Reward Your World™” App, available for both Google Android and Apple iOS platforms, builds upon the sustainable travel activities of the first version (which included motivating, tracking and rewarding users who chose to walk, cycle or take a bus or train). The App now includes the tracking and rewarding of Park & Ride and Car Sharing activities, as well as ad hoc user activities, which can be defined by local partners. Some examples of ad hoc activities include cycle trails and treasure hunts, which will appeal to families.

In essence, “Reward Your World™” is Reading’s local community engagement programme giving financially valuable points (in the form of RYW’s BetterPoints™ currency) and offers to residents for taking positive behaviour steps locally.
The “BetterPoints™ earned through activities can be redeemed for the benefit of the user or can be donated as cash to charities and causes, who in turn, can post appeals for support and volunteers on the Reward Your World web site.
Businesses are encouraged to participate in this programme by sponsoring projects and encouraging the involvement of their staff in volunteering as well as sustainable transport and health-related activities.
